Dear Members.....

The forecast bad weather never really arrived unlike the golf, well on my part anyway.

Mr Captain turned up all but briefly to wish us all a good game before heading off over to Ireland for a funeral. After a quick lunch and some errant tee shots we got underway at Chorlton Cum Hardy Golf Club. The course is challenging enough, but with the softer ground which we are not used to after a great summer so far made is harder. Norman Crowther though made it look easy coming in with 42 points of a handicap of 11, The now bionic Mario Visconti came in second and Don Bryce dusted off the clubs to take third place, we actually had some guests on this one and one of Normans three guests Darren Hill took the honors. Longest drive went to Dan Barber with a massive drive, Nearest the Pin went to Norman Crowther who also got a two along with Barry Moran and the Captains Day Prize of nearest the pin in two went to Bernard Scott.
